On the look-out for wise words for work
The next time you have an interview send out a thank-you letter afterwards. I really appreciate it when someone says thank you, don't you?
Writing a follow-up letter is good for the following reasons:
- It's polite and shows good manners.
- Not many of your rivals will remember to send one - giving you an advantage.
- You
remind the interviewer about yourself. There may have been many
interviews - make sure you stand out even after the interviews are
over.
- A letter, or even an e-mail, is less intrusive than a phone call. A letter shows you respect that the interviewer may be too busy to take your call - and a letter also gives the interviewer time to think of an appropriate response. If you phone, you could put the interviewer in a difficult situation.
Most of all, a follow-up letter that lands on an interviewers desk just at the right moment could bring you luck. And sometimes, getting a job offer is all about luck!
We wish you luck at your next interview! Remember these word: follow up with a thank you.
