The new Business Spotlight Teachers' Group

Since my last blog post, there's been some activity over on The Business Spotlight Teachers' Group. We now have 36 members and one of them, Anne Hodgson, a business English teacher based in Munich, recently posted a request on the discussion forum for intercultural materials. You'll see on the discussion page that Deborah Capras, deputy editor of Business Spotlight, has pointed Anne in the right direction.

This is exactly the type of support that the discussion forum on The Business Spotlight Teachers' Group can give you. If you have any questions about materials for a particular group's needs, simply post your query on the forum and we'll try to help you.

How else can the Teachers' Group help you? Well, another feature is Lesson Ideas, where you'll see that both Deborah and I have added further lesson materials and ideas for using them with your learners. It's a great, additional resource complementing Business Spotlight in the classroom!

On our Ning, the main page gives you an overview of everything that is happening in the Teachers' Group, as well as keeping you up to date on teacher-trainer workshops. By the way, at every workshop, in addition to taking away practical teaching tips and learning about current trends in teaching business English, you will also receive a free copy of the latest issue of the magazine, which includes the new vocabulary guide Skill Up!, the exercise workbook plus and a copy of Business Spotlight in the classroom. So please take a look at when and where our next workshop will be, and join us. 

And finally, the group allows you to see which other teachers are using Business Spotlight. Social media groups such as this one are a great place to meet people with the same interests as you. You can even exchange teaching tips with one another by commenting on an activity from the magazine that worked particularly well with your learners (see this example).
