There are different ways of referring to decisions about the future.
Use “going to” for plans and intentions:
– I’m going to buy a new laptop. This one is ten years old.
Use “will” for spontaneous decisions:
– I’m nearly ready. I’ll just go and get my coat.
Use the present continuous for future arrangements:
– I’d better go now. I’m meeting Tom in the lobby at three.
