Dear Ms Kensington

Thank you for taking the time on the telephone to tell me about the administrative assistant position at your company. After learning more about what the job entails, I would like to submit my application for the position. You will see from the enclosed CV that my main strengths are in the following areas:

*organization of travel arrangements for international partners and clients;
*communication (written and spoken) in German and English;
*translation of correspondence, agendas and minutes from meetings;
*preparation of presentations using standard software applications.

I am presently working as a bilingual secretary in the administrative office at IMG Semiconductor GmbH in Berlin. While the international atmosphere there is stimulating, I feel that I am qualified to take on additional responsibilities such as the ones you mentioned. I am confident that I could manage your office operations efficiently.

I shall contact you next Monday morning to see whether we can arrange a time to meet personally to discuss employment opportunities.

Yours sincerely,

Julia Weimar
