On your CV, I want to see…

Ashby: …how I can get in contact with you. That information should be on the front page, and should always include a phone number. Remember that if your application comes by email, I don’t even know what city you live in!

Lambert: …that it’s clear and easy to read. Give examples of work you’ve done with other employers, and measures of what you’ve accomplished. Be sure your résumé shows the skills that are needed for the job. Target yourself towards the position.

Marriott: …facts. This means the things you can do and the right skills for the job. And I like to see a certain amount of loyalty, not someone who changes firms every year.

Roestorff: …every single detail of every job you have ever done. Start with your current job and then move back towards your first job and qualifications. If you are an engineer, tell me what you do exactly and what your responsibilities are.

Sup: …a clearly defined objective, and that your education and training supports the objective you’ve stated. Also, proof that you are staying current in the field.
