Why do mergers fail?
14.01.2008
Compared to the merger mania trend of the 1990s, the last couple of years have been pretty uneventful when it comes to M&A. Corporate scandals, stock market instability, a poor economic climate and the war in Iraq were probably to blame for the lack of deals in recent years. So too, however, is the failure of many of the past deals to increase equity value.
In our exercise, we look at why some mergers and acquisitions fail.
