If the idea of surfing the net, checking your e-mails and downloading the latest pop songs onto your laptop while drinking a pint and eating a packet of crisps in a London pub appeals to you, then maybe you should plan a visit to the capital. Hundreds of pubs and coffee shops have installed Wi-Fi "hotspots" to allow their customers to stay in touch while they are on the move. There are even buses with Wi-Fi so you can really be on the move while you surf!
The number of other retailers offering high-speed wireless internet access is steadily increasing. If you prefer quieter spots though, you may have to wait a little longer, but the government has promised to install Wi-Fi in every library too.
More positively, it’s getting cheaper. In many places it's free.
And if it's free, you should make the most of it. So, make sure you're up-to-date with the vocabulary of Wi-Fi. Learn some expressions in our exercise.
