I’ve been working as a restaurant server for about two years. I work four nights a week, from 5 to 11 p.m. I earn $6.75 an hour (about €4.89), which is below the minimum wage of $8 here in California, and I earn between $100 and $150 a night in tips. I have to share my tips with other workers, including the hostess and the busboys. And I pay tax on my tips.
