The correct answer is: downbeat

“President-elect Barack Obama is decidedly downbeat about the economy."

When someone is "downbeat" about something, that person is pessimistic.

downbeat = pessimistisch

We can use "downright" as an adverb to describe an adjective. It means "extremely".

"He was downright nasty to Sylvia. Why doesn't he like her?"
"It's a downright disgrace how they fired him."

downright = völlig
