The correct answer is: outageAmazon has apologized for the outage of its cloud-computing service.

An outage is a period of time when there is no service or electricity. We often talk about a "power outage" when there is no electricity.

A week after the fault in Amazon EC2 (the retailer's cloud-computing business), which caused many websites to go offline, the company apologized. Amazon will give all users a ten-day cloud services credit, even if they weren't affected by the outage.

Cloud computing is the renting of computer resources and services through the internet. It's a fast-growing business. The term "cloud computing" was probably inspired by the cloud symbol that is used in diagrams and charts to symbolize the internet.

If you oust somebody, you force someone out of a particular position or place or you remove something and replace it with something else.

"The chairman was ousted from the board following allegations of misconduct."

"The mp3-player has ousted the portable disc player as the most popular way to listen to music while travelling."
