Procedure
Lesson one
Write the quote from the top of page 67 on the board.
“The beautiful part of writing is that you don’t have to get it right the first time, unlike, say, a brain surgeon.”
American author and journalist Robert Cromier
Ask the students what types of letters or documents they write at work. How do they prepare themselves for writing, and how do they check their work before sending it off?
Homework
Download the "Write It Right!" PDF.
Send the activity to your students as an attachment and ask them to correct the e-mail. They should send your the corrected text as an e-mail before the next lesson.
Feedback
Send your students feedback on their e-mails via e-mail before the next lesson. Ask the students to bring to the next lesson an e-mail that they’ve recently written in English.
Lesson two
Read the article “Finding the Right Words”.
Discuss the article, focusing on sections two and four.
Working in pairs, the students should look at their e-mails. Have they used the information in the article to make their writing as clear as possible?
Discuss improvements to the students’ e-mails.

hi as i am new to this site, i dont quite understand how to access the pages given as references...any help available?
The page references are for our Business Spotlight 2/2008 magazine. However, in this case, you do not actually need the magazine to do this activity with your students.
