Essential series booklet: “100 Grammar tips for business” |
PROCEDURE
- Preparation: Ask your student to look through the essential series grammar booklet at home and to choose grammar areas to work on in the lessons.
- Practise the selected grammar over a series of lessons. The activities could include:
- mini-role plays to practise the grammar on pages 4–9 and 16–21. Record the dialogues on an mp3 player and give immediate language feedback;
- email-writing practice using the grammar on pages 10–13. This can be done with pen and paper, but a more realistic method is to use laptops with an internet connection. The scheduling activity is more challenging if you make it difficult to find a suitable appointment. Give feedback at the end of a series of emails;
- your student giving a presentation to practise the grammar on page 15. Video the presentation and give immediate language feedback.
- To encourage independent learning, direct your student to the grammar section of the Business Spotlight website (www.business-spotlight.de/language-skills).
