PROCEDURE
- Download the role plays.
Personal banking: role plays
Print out and cut apart. Copy the English vocabulary on pages 6–7 onto cards. - Place the vocabulary cards face up on the table. Tell your student that the words relate to personal banking. They should explain the words they know and guess the meanings of the other words. Your student should now study pages 6–7 to see if they got the meanings right, and to check any new vocabulary.
- Do the role plays, adjusting difficulty levels if necessary. Record the role plays for language feedback later so that you can concentrate on your own role. Listen to the recordings, ask your student to give feedback and give your own.
- As a follow-up activity your student can listen to Tracks 11 and 12 on the Business Spotlight Audio and check out the English version of their own bank’s website.
- If your student is interested in company finances, you can prepare a similar activity based on the vocabulary on pages 8–9.
