Procedure
Write the unfinished quotes on the board: “My holiday begins when I…” and “When I … all my worries melt away.”
Discuss how you would finish the quotes with your student.
Now write on the board: “On holiday... I never: _______; I always _______; I never take _______; I never leave behind _______.” Ask your student to fill in the blanks while you do the same. Discuss and compare your holiday habits.
Ask your student to read one of the holiday profiles on pages 77–81 while you read another. Discuss the following: Why did you choose that specific profile? How is it similar to or different from your holidays?
Read Charles Bry’s profile on page 79. How is his idea of holiday different from the other profiles?
Play track 9 on Business Spotlight Audio 1/08. What images come to mind after listening to Bry’s description of Finland?
