The two-year training programme is led by Detective Chief superintendentHauptkommissar(in) (UK)Superintendent Stephen Clayman.

    “It’s a challengingschwierigchallenging and hard role at times, but it’s incredibly rewardinglohnendrewarding,” Clayman told The Guardian. The campaign has proved especially attractive to young people from BAME backgrounds. BAME (black, Asian, minority ethnic) refers to non-white communities in Britain. “There’s an ambition for the Met to look and feel like London and I think that’s a really important aspect of our recruitmentEinstellungrecruitment campaign,” Clayman says.

    From 2018, all new police officers in England and Wales will need university degreeAbschlussdegrees. “As a detective, you’ll be looking at lots of information. You’ll be to researchRecherchen anstellenresearching, you’ll be analysing and you’ll be making criticalwichtig, entscheidendcritical decisions,” Clayman explains.
